We have also developed a special process for brand new boats, boats that have never had antifouling, and boats that must be stripped of all the old antifouling to bare gelcoat. This process begins with a special mold release and wax remover, sanding to 80 grit production spec, then three coats of Interprotect Epoxy, followed by three coats of antifouling applied within the necessary cure window. This has become the gold standard for sealing up new and bare gelcoat, and developing a base layer that will last for many many years.
