Bottom Paint Racing

We offer fairing, foil templating, and all racing finishes from polished epoxy to burnished antifouling. We install kelp windows, kelp knives and camera systems.

This is a Farr 40 that was stripped all the way down to bare gelcoat and refinished, after sitting through the off-season as shown in the picture. We cross blocked and faired the hull, applied three layers of Interprotect Epoxy, cross blocked and faired again, then applied Petit Vivid antifouling which is a biocide based racing paint that stays white so kelp can be easily identified if stuck on the foils.  We also offer the option of a graphite kit with this paint, which turns it a light grey and makes for a harder finish.

We spray all of our Racing bottoms with a High Pressure Agitator Pot, which allows us to produce a very flat and smooth finish right out of the gun.  Most race finishes are then hand burnished before they go in the water. We can do this with a variety of antifouling paints including VC Offshore, Petit Vivid, ECONEA, a metal free anti-fouling agent, as well as Modified Alkaline Epoxy Paints such as Petit Trinidad and ZSpar Protector.
